This Social Media Platform's Organic Reach Is Insane!

This Social Media Platform’s Organic Reach Is Insane!

Today, I’m going to be sharing with you about this social media platform where the organic reach is insane. You are going to be really surprised with this platform as I’d never thought that I would be able to expand my reach on this platform.

This platform is LinkedIn.

I’ve always been a huge fan of Instagram. I’ve been talking so much about Instagram, but you don’t want to put all of your eggs in one basket.

At the end of the day, you don’t own Instagram, it’s rented space. Any time if Instagram shuts down, or if your account gets suspended, or gets hacked by someone then it’s impossible to retrieve that account where you have to start from scratch. That’s why the other platform that you might want to consider being on is LinkedIn.

Here’s an example of what I mean by not putting all of your eggs in one basket.

Many years ago, I was a beauty salon owner. At that time, I was looking to rent a place for this salon so I rented this particular place that I really loved. But ended up moving because the owner decided to increase an exorbitant amount that didn’t justify a healthy profit at the end of the month.

I had no choice but to move and lose the clientele that I built at the very beginning. This was way before I even started social media and building an email list for the business. During that time, social media was still very new and it was something that I didn’t look into. I focused more on traditional marketing before I got into social media marketing for the business.

That’s what I meant by putting all of the eggs in one basket because I thought I was going to be there for a long time. If you’re on a few social media platforms, and lose one platform, you are not going to be devastated as you still have other platforms where you can share your knowledge and still get clients.

It is great to expand your reach on other social media platforms. Most platforms are becoming a pay to play sort of platform. It means you’re getting less organic reach unless you’re spending money on ads to reach more people.

What happens when you’re just starting out or even just 2 to 3 years in the business, and you just don’t have the budget allocated for any ads, right? You rely a lot on organic traffic, but I must say, it is getting challenging to get good organic reach on most of the social media platforms.

With LinkedIn, the organic reach is just insane. Organic reach is when you put out a post, it still reaches a lot of people without investing in ads.

Before I actually dived deep into LinkedIn, I was really skeptical about this platform. I created my account a long time ago, it was more of a set and forget kind of a platform.

It just didn’t strike me that I will be able to get to know more people and get clients or leads from this platform. It wasn’t until I had this really great conversation around LinkedIn with my good friend. She was just telling me how she gets her sales, the majority of her sales through LinkedIn.

After the conversation, she convinced me that LinkedIn is the place to be. That was the time that I went and explored the platform a little bit more, and started to invest my time there.

Why is LinkedIn not on your mind?

1/ At the moment, it is thought of as more of a professional, career-oriented place where you just didn’t give any thought of including it as part of your social media strategy.

You might be just wondering who is going to be interested if I’m going to be talking about my services and the offers that I put out there? It’s more of a job opportunity platform.

2/ You feel you can’t sell your services and offers. The third one is that no one is going to be interested in your offers or services in a career sort of platform.

LinkedIn has changed over the years, it’s no longer just a place where you look for job opportunities or a resume platform. After exploring the platform, I noticed that people are not sharing a lot of information about job positions that are available within a company or sharing resumes on the platform.

There was actually a lot of educational and inspiring content on the platform. People are showing authority, their personal brand, thought leadership on a certain topic, and it was just really interesting.

This is probably one of the platforms that you might want to consider investing your time in.

Here’s why you should be on LinkedIn.

1/ It is a place for your personal brand to showcase what you do, and how you can help. This opens doors to opportunities.

2/ It is a virtual networking place to meet like-minded individuals, or even get dream clients on that platform.

3/ The organic reach is insane.

I’m going to be sharing with you 5 tips on how you can grow your presence on LinkedIn.

#1: Optimise your Bio

Put in your name and what you want to be known for, you can use the “I help” statement that you have already crafted for Instagram(if you have an IG account). You can do the same for LinkedIn as well so your message is consistent across all of the social media platforms.

In your bio, there’s a feature section. You can use that to highlight the articles, posts, links and media that you want people to view when they are checking your profile out.

With the about section, fill out some short and simple information that you want your audience to know.

#2: Headline of your caption

Your audience can see the first 3 rows of the caption. Write a headline that will arouse the curiosity that they want to click on.

One of the ways of creating an interesting headline is by asking a Yes or No question. If you are speaking directly to your audience, and resonating with your question by nodding your head, or even just saying yes, in their heart, they are going to want to click the “See More” button and read more about what you have to share.

The second type of headline you can write is about a crazy stat that’s related to your industry or what you do.

Here’s an example of a post that actually had 18,000 views that aroused people’s curiosity. The headline is this – I would not be where I am today if I had not done this. Do people want to know what I actually did to get to where I am today?

#3: Connect and engage

You have to be strategic. Comment on posts of your ideal client or thought leaders that your ideal clients are most likely connected to. Why make it strategic? It’s because when that person engages with your comment, that person’s comment can actually be seen on their feed.

Here’s a super tip, if you’re sharing something that involves someone in your list, tag them. I actually did this and one of my posts got 18,000 views within 3 days. Another post was at 1400 views within the day. That is the power of tagging the people that you’re mentioning in your content.

#4: Share your thoughts and expertise

You can demonstrate your knowledge. For example, if you are a fitness coach, you can talk about the nutrition that plays a vital part in their fitness goals and success. It’s not all about the workouts that you’re talking about. You’re also talking about the other parts that are vital to be able to achieve the objective and goals.

You can even build credibility by just sharing content on how you have helped your clients achieve their results. You can also show your leadership. For example, if you are an entrepreneur, you can talk about how you lead your team, how you organise your business to be able to achieve the success that you have today.

#5: Switch things up with your content

At the end of the day, if you’re going to be doing the same thing that everybody is doing on the platform, you won’t be seen or heard. Stand out and cut through the noise. One of the ways that you can do this is through video content.

When it comes to recording video content, it’s simple. You have your phone, and all you have to do is start recording yourself talking to the camera with your insights or even just any sort of fun stuff that you want to share.

It doesn’t have to be professionally shot but make sure it’s not boring content, too. You can post a video of you, celebrating your wins. It can be a photo or video of you doing a happy dance that will help you stand out from the crowd.

I’ve actually shared quite a few dancing videos and it’s just repurposed content from TikTok. I do like to share it on a Friday because I feel that Friday should be a day of fun. I know we all have work, but Friday is the time to start to feel a little bit more relaxed as we wrap up the week and welcome the weekend.

I noticed that videos like this are also entertaining, I get more views and reach even though LinkedIn feels more like a somewhat of a serious platform compared to Facebook and Instagram. It is okay to share any sort of content that you feel confident and comfortable sharing.

The one thing that I want you to remember is that you don’t have to care about what people think if you’re going to post a video or any sort of content that is going to make you stand out from the crowd.

There you have it, the social media platform where the organic reach is amazing. Here’s a recap of what we have talked about, why LinkedIn is probably not on your mind at the moment, why you should be on LinkedIn and the 5 tips on how to grow your presence on LinkedIn.
