Today I’m going to be sharing with you on setting your day up for success.
I’m going to be real, raw, and vulnerable with you today. I was contemplating if I should share this, but I decided to go ahead anyway. Simply because we are all humans and that we go through different emotions and it’s okay to share. It is OK to be in this season of life.
A big part of it was I have been in the social media sphere for quite some time now. Most of the time when I browse through social media platforms and all I see is the good side of it. It is very rare that you see the bad side of things. I decided to share because stories can change lives and my biggest “why” is to make an impact.
Lately, I haven’t been at the top of my game, and I have been beating myself up for not achieving anything and that led me to be feeling really demotivated.
I wasn’t doing any of my morning routines, I wasn’t working out, and just, feeling sorry for myself. I ended up spending quite a lot of time doing unproductive things like browsing through social media, and reading how everyone has achieved X, Y, and Z.
I got really frustrated but I know something had to be done and it has been a while since I journaled. Life got in the way leaving me no time for journaling. I remember that when I used to journal I would actually write down as if I am living in the present moment and also included affirmations.
I slowly eased myself getting back into the habit of practicing positive affirmations. If you haven’t heard of what an affirmation is, it is defined as a positive statement that can help you to consciously be in control of your thoughts. It’s like a mental exercise that can strengthen your mind like going to the gym and strengthening your body.
Affirmations are statements that you can repeat, to stay positive and motivated to achieve your goals. It can influence your actions.
For us as business owners, things can go downhill at any time. It’s like a roller coaster ride and a constant battle. It’s so easy to fall prey to negative thoughts and just lose sight of your goals. I’m sure many of you can relate to that.
Many times, I almost gave up. If you’re lucky, you have someone to cheer you on to keep you going. Most times when it comes to entrepreneurship, it can be lonely.
If you don’t have anyone to cheer you up, remember this. You are your biggest cheerleader. If you don’t believe in yourself, who else would believe in you?
When you incorporate affirmations in your daily life, you have a positive attitude that opens up a world of opportunities. You might be wondering, how do you incorporate this into your life? Say it out loud, visualise it or write it down in your journal.
Here’s a tip. If you are a busy person, and of course all of us are, record your voice, repeat the affirmations and listen to this every time during your walk, while you’re showering or driving and whenever you can squeeze this in.
The key to your business (or in life) success is to believe in yourself and the affirmations. This is what kept me really grounded and just not giving up.
