What is a content calendar and why do you need one? To help you understand what this is – it is a written schedule of what content to publish, when and where you plan to publish them.
A content calendar is important to help us have an organised way of marketing our services on the social media.
Having a content calendar will give you a clear overview of your content for the entire month and to ensure that each content o ensure that each content is aligned with your content strategy and launch plans.
It helps you ensure that you have a varied content and you don’t post the same things all over again, give you an opportunity to repurpose older content and stick to your launch plans
Above all, it helps you save time. You can prepare your content one month in advance (in less than 2 hours) so you can make use of the rest of the days building your empire!
Your content calendar doesn’t have to be complicated. You can make use of free tools like Google Sheets or Trello to do this. What’s important is that you can lay down all your contents in one place, plan and strategies.
🔥 WHAT TO POST
Your content should cover at least 4 themes. Think about 4 things that lights you up and that includes your business. An example of a fitness coach – your content could be around the themes of fitness, wellness, parenting and your business.
Create content that educates, inspires or entertains BUT always make sure that it CONVERTS. Think about the relevant call-to-actions that should go with your content.
For every post, create and organise the steps for that post. Here’s an example for you:
- Headline
- Caption’s outline
- Media – photo/graphic/video
- Call-To-Action
Always keep in mind to encourage your audience to engage. Here’s an example, when you post about your morning exercise routine, add a call-to-action such as “How about you? What exercise do you do every morning? I would love to try other things too!” OR “Any simple routine you know that you can share with me?”
Your content should be able to convert, whether you steer them to checking your bio, sending you a DM, sharing and saving your content or to simply like and comment!
🔥 WHEN TO POST
First things first, decide on your preferred frequency of posting. Know how many posts a week are you able to commit to. I suggest posting 3 to 4 times a week as this is more manageable.
QUALITY OVER QUANTITY
To know when’s the best day and time to post is by checking on your Instagram Insights. There you’ll find 3 tabs such as content, activity and audience. Tap on audience to see the time your followers are most active.
If you see that most of your audience are online during Mondays and are most active between 9pm-10pm then have a content scheduled every Monday during those times.
Know that insights do change from time to time so make sure to check it every now and then so you can adjust your posting schedule when necessary.
If you want to keep yourself organised, be able to focus on money-making activities and stay in your zone of genius then having a content calendar will give you all the time to do those things!
There’s no other best time to do your content calendar than TODAY!
